Senior Reality Capture & Geomatics Specialist (Future Equity Opportunity)

Position Overview
The successful candidate will serve as the company's Technical Lead, responsible for all aspects of surveying, reality capture, field operations, data processing, drafting, quality control, and technical workflow development.
This position will begin as a freelance/independent contractor role on a project-by-project basis. As the company grows, there is a genuine opportunity for the right individual to transition into a leadership role and, based on mutual success, performance, trust, and shared vision, become an equity partner in the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform terrestrial laser scanning using both static and mobile mapping systems.
- Operate GNSS receivers, total stations, digital levels, and other surveying equipment.
- Complete traditional field measurements when appropriate. For smaller projects, determine when conventional surveying methods are more efficient than using a 3D laser scanner and accurately collect all required site measurements.
- Provide complete surveying and existing conditions documentation for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
- Establish survey control and perform accurate field measurements.
- Plan and execute fieldwork efficiently, safely, and professionally.
- Register, clean, process, and quality-check point cloud data.
- Draft accurate drawings directly from point cloud data.
- Produce high-quality deliverables, including:
- Existing conditions floor plans
- Site plans
- Elevations
- Building sections
- Reflected ceiling plans
- CAD drawings
- Revit/BIM models
- Point cloud registrations
- Review project accuracy and ensure all deliverables meet company quality standards.
- Develop and improve internal technical workflows and standards.
- Evaluate and implement new surveying and reality capture technologies.
- Train future technicians as the company expands.
- Work closely with management to improve services, increase efficiency, and support business growth.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of traditional surveying methods and modern reality capture technologies.
- Experience operating laser scanners, GNSS receivers, and total stations.
- Thorough understanding of survey control, coordinate systems, and point cloud registration.
- Proven ability to draft accurate CAD drawings and BIM models from point cloud data.
- Strong knowledge of construction drawings and building documentation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout the Greater Montreal Area.

- Other point cloud processing and surveying software
Communication & Language Requirements
- Fluent spoken and written English is required.
- Good working proficiency in French is required to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders throughout Quebec.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical information clearly and professionally.
