FORMWORK / SCAFFOLDING CARPENTER

Joneljim Concrete Construction is a Cape Breton-based construction company with a strong presence across residential, commercial, and industrial projects in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality and surrounding areas. We are currently seeking an experienced Formwork and Scaffolding Carpenter to join our growing team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Constructing, erecting, and stripping concrete formwork for foundations, walls, columns, and slabs
- Assembling, installing, and dismantling scaffolding systems in accordance with safety standards
- Reading and interpreting project drawings and specifications
- Ensuring formwork is properly aligned, braced, and capable of supporting loads
- Inspecting forms and scaffolding for structural integrity prior to pours and elevated work
- Working collaboratively with concrete, ironwork, and other trades on site
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition
- Adhering to all health, safety, and WCB requirements on site
QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with various formwork systems (Symons, Aluma, or similar)
- Scaffolding safety training or certification an asset
- Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Valid driver's licence an asset
- Experience on commercial or industrial projects an asset
