Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Tour Guide to lead customers through the Kelowna back country using special purpose vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a passion for sharing knowledge, and the ability to create memorable experiences for diverse audiences. This role involves guiding groups, providing educational insights, and ensuring visitors have an enjoyable and informative experience. Multilingual abilities and leadership qualities are highly valued to connect with a broad range of guests and foster a welcoming environment. Off road and back country experience is an asset as well as basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
Duties
- Lead guided tours for groups of clients
- Engage audiences with compelling storytelling and public speaking skills
- Answer questions from visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Manage tour schedules efficiently to ensure timely departures and arrivals
- Assist in educational activities or demonstrations as needed
- Maintain the safety and comfort of all guests during tours
- Promote positive visitor experiences by delivering exceptional customer service
- Collaborate with team members to improve tour content and visitor engagement strategies
- Use multilingual skills to communicate effectively with international guests when applicable
- Uphold the organization’s standards for professionalism and presentation
Experience
- Prior experience in public speaking, teaching, or guiding groups is preferred
- Strong customer service background with excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tours or groups simultaneously
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and engage diverse audiences
- Experience in cultural education, history, or related fields is beneficial but not required
