Job Summary
The Community Justice Worker plays a vital role in fostering positive relationships between community members and local justice systems. This position involves providing support, guidance, and advocacy to individuals involved in or affected by the justice process. The Community Justice Worker works closely with community organizations, law enforcement, and social services to promote rehabilitation, reduce recidivism, and enhance community safety. The role requires a compassionate approach, strong communication skills, and a commitment to social justice.
Duties
- Serve as a liaison between community members and justice agencies to facilitate understanding and cooperation.
- Provide support and counseling to individuals involved in the justice system, including those on probation or parole.
- Assist clients in accessing resources such as housing, employment, education, and mental health services.
- Develop individualized plans aimed at reducing barriers to successful reintegration into the community.
- Conduct outreach activities to educate the community about justice initiatives and available support programs.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, social workers, and community organizations to coordinate services and interventions.
- Monitor client progress and maintain accurate documentation of interactions and outcomes.
- Advocate for clients’ needs within the justice system and community settings to promote fair treatment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of local justice systems, social services, and community resources is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to social equity and community development.
- Experience in conflict resolution, counseling, or case management is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license may be required depending on job responsibilities.

Pay: $19.23-$33.24 per hour
