Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Operator to join our dynamic logistics and distribution team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing warehouse operations, including order fulfillment, shipping & receiving, and heavy equipment operation. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems and the ability to operate various types of heavy machinery. Candidates with warehouse experience, mechanical knowledge, and construction background are highly encouraged to apply. The Warehouse Operator plays a vital role in ensuring smooth warehouse flow, accurate order processing, and safe handling of materials.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, and order pickers to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
- Manage order picking and fulfillment processes accurately using warehouse management systems like AS400
- Assist with shipping & receiving activities, including loading and unloading trucks and verifying shipments
- Perform packaging tasks to prepare products for shipment while maintaining quality standards
- Maintain safety protocols during heavy equipment operation and general warehouse activities
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure operational safety
- Support inventory management through accurate stock counts and data entry into warehouse systems
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely order processing and delivery schedules
- Assist in construction or assembly tasks as needed for warehouse setup or modifications
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, or order pickers in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400, or similar inventory software
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) regularly throughout shifts
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, packaging, or construction is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate order picking and inventory control
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety standards
- Warehouse experience in distribution centers or manufacturing facilities preferred
