JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Marina Director, the position holder supports the Operations Assistants in carrying out various technical and manual tasks at the Port of Québec Marina.
The work schedule consists of forty (40) hours per week and includes both weekdays and weekends, with two days off during the week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in boat launching and haul-out operations
- Verify berth occupancy
- Assist with boat docking
- Refuel boats with gasoline/diesel and process payments
- Perform septic pumping for boats
- Mow the lawn, weed, and water flowers
- Ensure the cleanliness of docks, the basin, grounds, and restrooms
- Perform certain tasks using equipment such as a tractor, lift, Merlo, or trailer
- Carry out various manual tasks as needed
- Maintain good customer relations and provide assistance when required (to members and visitors)
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and rules
- Coordinate the work of Operations Attendants when required
- Perform any other related duties
DESIRED PROFILE
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have 2 to 3 years of experience in similar roles
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Have strong oral and written French skills; English proficiency is considered an asset
- Remain calm in stressful situations
- Demonstrate good priority management and organizational skills
- Be flexible and able to work in a constantly changing environment
- Be capable of alternating between multiple tasks
- Be customer service oriented
- Possess knowledge of the maritime environment (an asset)
- Hold a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (an asset)
- Hold a Restricted VHF Radio Operator Certificate (an asset)
