Job Description
Blackwater Fire Protection Inc. is a locally owned and operated fire protection company serving Calgary and the surrounding area. We are committed to delivering high-quality fire sprinkler installation, inspection, service, and maintenance while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining the highest safety standards.
We are currently seeking an experienced Journeyman/Woman Sprinkler Fitter to join our growing team. This is a full-time position for an individual who is self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and can be trusted to represent our company professionally on job sites and with customers.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, inspect, test, and repair fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and project plans
- Troubleshoot and diagnose sprinkler system deficiencies and recommend appropriate solutions
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable fire codes, safety regulations, and company standards
- Complete inspection reports, service documentation, and other required paperwork accurately and on time
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with customers, contractors, project managers, and other trades
- Perform preventative maintenance and system upgrades as required
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a professional manner
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures while maintaining a safe and organized work environment
- Work independently and efficiently while managing priorities and meeting project deadlines
Qualifications
- Journeyman/Woman Sprinkler Fitter Certification
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting fire sprinkler systems
- Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, industry standards, and applicable codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Professional attitude and strong customer service skills
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions
