Senior Safety Coordinator
Onsite/Project Site | Edmonton, AB | Full-time, Permanent (Non-Exempt)
TRAXX Coachlines Ltd. (TCL) is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to support and execute health, safety, and compliance programs across TCL and project-based operations. This role focuses on field-level safety oversight, regulatory compliance, driver and site safety support, and continuous improvement of safety practices. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, dispatch, drivers, and industrial clients to ensure all safety requirements are met and maintained in both transportation and site environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
Field Safety Oversight & Compliance

Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and transportation regulations

Conduct routine yard, vehicle, and site inspections

Monitor adherence to company safety policies and safe work practices

Support implementation of safety programs across operations
Driver Safety & Monitoring
-
Monitor driver compliance including logs, fatigue management, and safe driving practices

Assist with driver coaching and corrective action processes
-
Support onboarding and safety orientation for drivers
Incident Management & Investigations

Assist in investigating collisions, workplace injuries, and near misses

Document findings and support implementation of corrective actions

Track and report safety incidents
Training & Safety Programs

Coordinate and deliver safety training programs, including onboarding and site orientations and required certifications

Support ongoing safety initiatives and awareness campaigns
Client & Site Coordination

Liaise with clients and site representatives to ensure safety requirements are met

Ensure compliance with site-specific rules and procedures

Maintain required safety documentation for site access and audits
Compliance Administration & Reporting

Navigate software related to workplace safety, ELD tracking, and administrative functions

Maintain safety records, logs, and documentation

Support internal audits and regulatory reporting requirements

Assist with compliance tracking and documentation accuracy
Qualifications & Experience
Required
-
NCSO designation or in progress
-
Knowledge of transportation safety regulations and occupational health & safety standards

3 – 5 years' experience in a safety, transportation, or industrial environment

Effective communicationand interpersonal skills

Highly organized with theability to follow existing processes

Excellentattention to detail and documentation accuracy

Ability to work independently and in field environments

Capable of supporting existing processes while identifying improvements
Working Conditions & Schedule

Combination of field and office-based work.
-
75% travel between terminals, yards,office,and project sites.
-
Eight (8) hours per day, Monday to Friday.

Available to respond to incidents on weekends or after hours when required.
