Position: Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic
Job Duties:
- CVIP: Perform and maintain commercial vehicle inspections program
- Ensure Engineered Crane Inspections are completed as required
- In yard and site maintenance and repair of all vehicles, construction equipment, cranes, all trailers, small engines (generator, air compressors)
- Troubleshoot – answer employee concerns regarding equipment malfunction
- Complete shop inspections, hazard assessments and comply to safety regulations
- Assist tool crib personnel with small tool repairs, as required
- Operate bob cats, overhead cranes, forklift, 14 ton cranes and other equipment as required
- Assist in crane inspections and lift inspections
- Install GPS Systems in trucks
- Order parts and supplies for unit repairs up to their Authority
- Plan/organize tools, equipment and supplies for repairs
- Sustain parts inventory, consumables and supplies
- Create and complete work orders as needed
- Arrange for 3rd party repair of vehicles
- Request and obtain quotes for major repairs
- Advise and make recommendations on Fleet replacement
Terms of Employment:
- Overtime as per Alberta Employment Standards
- Benefits: Eligible after 90 days of employment.
- Work is located in Wainwright, Alberta
Skill Requirements:
- Journeyman Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic
- Current Safety Tickets required: H2S Alive, CSTS2020, and Emergency First Aid
- Ability to lift up to 23kg
- Proficiently read, write, and speak English
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean 5 year drivers abstract
