Position Overview
A well-established, not-for-profit daycare centre servicing approximately 180 children in Toronto’s Little Italy neighbourhood is looking for a new Childcare Supervisor. The Supervisor will report to our Executive Director and, along with the Executive Director, will be responsible for managing and training a team of 30 staff in a unionized environment. The Supervisor (along with the Executive Director) will also be responsible for ensuring that the centre delivers high-quality, inclusive and fun programming for our children and families, and complies with the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA) and various requirements of the Ministry of Education, Toronto Children’s Services, Toronto Public Health, and Toronto District School Board (TDSB). The salary and benefits package is very competitive, with salary in the range of $70,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualification.

Key Responsibilities:
- Working a primarily stable schedule during the centre's daytime hours of operation, but also working at different times depending on the centre's needs.
- Training, supervising, mentoring and supporting childcare staff in daily responsibilities.
- Developing and approving program plans and ensuring effective delivery of programs.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with families.
- Assisting with menu planning.
- Understanding and administering the collective agreement with the union.
- Conducting monthly staff meetings, including preparing agendas and documenting minutes.
- Arranging staff schedules based on the needs of the centre (taking into account staff vacations, sick days etc.).
- Conducting family meetings to discuss child development, program concerns or administrative matters.
- Communicating program updates, policies and other important information to families.
- Working closely with school caretaking staff to ensure cleanliness and safety, and generally ensuring that the centre’s facilities are well-maintained well-organized.
- Working collaboratively with Community Living Toronto consultants to support children with additional needs.
- Liaising with the TDSB Childcare Consultant and School Principal.
- Maintaining accurate records related to enrollment, attendance and staffing.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Director to support the effective operation of the centre.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education.
- RECE in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE).
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in a licensed childcare setting.
- Childcare Management Program is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of CCEYA, Ministry licensing requirements, and Toronto Children’s Services policies.
- Experience working in a not-for-profit environment is an asset.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient computer skills (email, documentation, childcare management systems).
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR level C.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check Screening.
Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
