Position Overview:
We are seeking a friendly and professional part-time Cashier and Customer Service Associate to join our team. This role is essential in creating a welcoming shopping experience, assisting customers with their needs, and ensuring transactions are handled accurately and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, comfortable interacting with customers, and enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment. Experience in customer service or retail sales is preferred, experience in construction/trades is considered an asset .
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Operate the POS system and process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges accurately
- Handle cash, debit, and credit card transactions with accuracy and integrity
- Assist customers with loading material into their vehicles
- Answer customer questions and assist with product selection
- Recommend products and provide product demonstrations when appropriate
- Maintain merchandising standards by organizing shelves, displays, and merchandise
- Keep the checkout area and store clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently
- Update social media accounts and assist with product advertising and promotions
- Support store operations and team members as needed during busy periods
Qualifications
- Previous customer service, cashier, or retail experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including professional phone etiquette
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift/carry 30-50lbs occasionally
- Basic math skills and comfort handling cash transactions
- Comfortable using computers, social media platforms, and POS systems
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are considered an asset

Pay: $17.50-$19.00 per hour
