Overview of the Role
Saputo Dairy Products Canada is seeking a passionate Health & Safety Specialist for a contract role (until March 31, 2028) to support and advance all health and safety initiatives, programs, and legislative compliance activities. This role partners closely with Health & Safety Department leaders across the organization to promote a strong safety culture, provide expert guidance, and ensure the consistent adoption of best practices and safe work procedures that reflect our commitment to making health and safety a top organizational priority.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, office-based role, during regular business hours. Flexibility is both required and supported.
How you will make contributions that matter:
Serve as the functional lead for the department’s SharePoint site, overseeing content management, access control, and the organization of safety resources.
Act as the program lead for the WSIB Health and Safety Excellence program, while partnering with and supporting Health and Safety Advisors across the Ontario region.
Generate comprehensive safety reports and actively monitor, review, and track safety compliance reports submitted by individual sites
Collaborate closely with peer groups in executing company safety policies by providing training and education to ensure that employees follow Internal and Governmental Safety Standards (OHSA/CSA)
Work in collaboration with the Corporate Health & Safety team as well as other Health & Safety Specialists to foster and promote a culture of employee engagement and continuous learning.
Influence change though comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis and proactively review and support the execution of health and safety programs.
Engage in regular frontline employee discussions to observe and learn from normal work, ensuring that desktop and site audits are grounded in a deep field-level understanding of how work is actually performed and documented to promote positive relations and ensure a healthy and safe working environment.
Support the deployment and integration of human organizational performance (HOP) into written Health and Safety programs.
Participate and support Learning Teams as needed.

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
A degree/diploma in Health and Safety or equivalent work experience. Registered as Canadian registered safety professional (CRST. CRSP)
3-5 years of Health and Safety experience in a medium to large organization.
An ideal candidate has experience in HOP, training delivery, coaching and is motivated to seek and understand problems in a methodical way.
Understanding in operational learning methodologies that include both learning from incidents and learning from normal work.
Ability to evaluate safeguards for error likely scenarios.
Possess a thorough understanding of local and Ontario provincial regulations; CSA standards and ISO 45001
Recognized leadership and autonomy, excellent communication, planning and work organization skills
Team oriented and strong ability to engage people.
Proficiency reporting in SharePoint, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with the ability to learn other online systems.

Salary: $80,130 to $105,170 per annum. Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills and training.
