Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking, cake decorating, and food preparation, with a keen eye for detail and presentation. Duties
- Prepare, bake, and decorate a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards
- Design and execute creative cake decorating techniques for special events and daily offerings
- Manage food preparation processes, including mixing, portioning, and packaging baked goods for sale or service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen to meet food safety regulations
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new dessert menus and seasonal offerings
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health and safety standards
- Assist in inventory management by ordering supplies and ingredients as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests regarding dessert options when applicable
Skills
- Proven experience in baking, pastry arts, or a related culinary field, preferably within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Expertise in cake decorating techniques and food presentation skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent food preparation skills with attention to detail in taste and appearance
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and interact with customers when necessary
- Experience with food packaging for retail or takeout services is a plus
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
