We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical work, including experience in industrial environments, and demonstrate proficiency with a range of electrical systems, tools, and equipment. This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and schematics to complete installations, maintenance, and repairs in compliance with all applicable safety standards and electrical codes.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine electrical layouts and specifications.
- Safely and efficiently use hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Install and service low-voltage systems, including lighting controls, security systems, and telecommunications wiring.
- Perform routine electrical maintenance and support renovation and construction projects as required.
- Collaborate with other trades and project team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
Experience & Qualifications
- Journeyperson Electrician certification (Red Seal or equivalent).
- Proven experience working as an electrician, with industrial and/or commercial experience considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
- Experience with low-voltage systems is an asset.
- Familiarity with construction and renovation processes is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
