Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Carpenter to oversee and coordinate various construction and renovation projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive knowledge of construction processes, and proficiency with a wide range of tools and techniques. This role involves supervising teams, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality workmanship across interior and exterior carpentry projects. The Lead Carpenter will play a critical role in project planning, execution, and quality control.
Duties
- Constructing landscape carpentry aspects including decks, fences, and pool houses.
- Knowledgeable and skilled in the techniques required for residential renovations and buildings.
- Supervise/coordinate subcontractors and crew.
- Ordering/Handling material as required for different projects.
- Use of hand tools and power tools to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
- Read and interpret construction drawings/plans.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes; enforce safety protocols among team members.
- Address on-site issues promptly to minimize delays; communicate progress regularly with project managers.
- Ability to drive a company pickup truck plus trailer.
Experience
- Proven experience in residential construction or renovation projects with a strong background in carpentry.
- Minimum 5 years of carpentry experience.
- Proven experience in a leadership role.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience leading teams on commercial or residential projects is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with safety regulations such as OSHA standards and best practices for heavy lifting is essential. This position offers an opportunity to lead impactful projects while utilizing a diverse skill set in a dynamic environment dedicated to quality craftsmanship and safety excellence.
