Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food service. As a key member of our restaurant management team, the Sous Chef will support the head chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, safety, and efficient service. Duties
- Assist in supervising kitchen staff, including cooks and food handlers, to ensure smooth daily operations
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high standards of quality and presentation
- Manage food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Coordinate with the restaurant management team to plan menus and control inventory levels
- Lead by example in food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Support training and development of kitchen staff to enhance skills and teamwork
- Serve as a leader during service hours, ensuring timely delivery of dishes and excellent customer experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment at all times
- Assist in managing restaurant operations during the absence of the head chef
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within the food industry
- Demonstrated leadership in team management and restaurant management roles
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hospitality settings
- Prior experience working in a kitchen environment with responsibilities related to serving guests
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, including inventory control and menu planning
- Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on teamwork and leadership within a hospitality setting
