We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Tow Truck Operator to join our Estevan team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual looking for a long-term career with a company that values hard work, integrity, and continuous growth.
Position Summary
The Heavy Duty Tow Truck Operator is responsible for responding to emergency roadside calls, commercial vehicle recoveries, equipment transport, accident recovery, and customer service throughout Southeast Saskatchewan. Successful applicants must demonstrate excellent judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to safely operate heavy-duty towing and recovery equipment in all weather and road conditions.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy-duty tow trucks, wreckers, and recovery equipment.
- Respond to emergency roadside assistance and accident recovery calls.
- Perform recoveries involving semi-trucks, trailers, buses, RVs, heavy equipment, and commercial vehicles.
- Transport disabled vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Properly secure all vehicles and equipment using industry-approved procedures.
- Maintain accurate service documentation using company systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleanliness of assigned equipment.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, law enforcement, first responders, SGI representatives, commercial clients, and the public.
- Represent Camel Towing & Sales Ltd. with professionalism at all times.
- Follow all provincial transportation regulations, company policies, and workplace safety procedures.
QualificationsRequired
- Valid Saskatchewan Class 1A Driver's Licence
- Clean driver's abstract
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening
- Strong work ethic with dependable attendance
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work rotating on-call schedules
- Comfortable working nights, weekends, holidays, and adverse weather conditions
- Ability to lift, climb, kneel, and work in physically demanding environments
Preferred
- Previous towing or heavy recovery experience
- Mechanical aptitude
- Experience operating heavy equipment
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle recovery procedures
- TDG, WHMIS, First Aid/CPR, H2S Alive, or other industry certifications
- Experience with load securement and transport regulations
