COSCO SHIPPING Lines (Canada) Inc. is a leading global ocean carrier with a rich history in the Canadian market. The company is launching a brand-new operations centre, COSCO SHIPPING NAOC – North America Operation Center, in Toronto, and we are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Equipment Flow Coordinator, in Equipment Control Department to manage container assets and optimize vessel allocations.
This is a full-time position based on 37.5 hours per week reporting to the manager of Equipment Control Department of NAOC.
Key Responsibilities
- Flow Team thoroughly reviews inventory and communicates with Terminals and Equipment Coordinators in reference to empty returns and gate statuses.
- If 100% Utilization cannot be met with COSCO inventory, they will collaborate with Traffic to offer space to Dual Brand by the calling port.
- Flow Team will try to maximize BSA for Cosco empties as Priority prior to offering space to OOCL for all Vessel Services.
- Prelims and Finals are sent to Traffic / Captains/ Terminals so they may plan according to TEU’s
- Once vessel sails Coordinator ensures OBC is complete and confirm with Overseas agent.
- Communicate any load shortages, reach out to terminal for a container list and verify reason for shortage.
- Communicate with EMC to roll or offer space via specific ports based on projections and forecasted data.
- Use of MRO Website to update 1st & 2nd Confirmation under Calendar View based on empty inventory available at each port to meet Traffic or Captains Prelim request for West Coast vessel loading.
Skills/Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related fields
- 1-3 years of industry related experience
- Strong, comprehensive understanding of COSCO vessel services, trade lanes and port calls
- Working knowledge of various Marine Terminals websites and port operator portals in North America
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
- Strong organizational skill, ability to prioritize and multitask
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
