The Successful Candidate Will:
Supervise and support Youth Centre Monitors, Kiosk Receptionists, Program Instructors, and volunteers, including providing guidance, scheduling breaks, and evaluating performance.
Handles administrative tasks such as completing nightly reports, facility maintenance forms, record of attendance for drop-in activities, staff evaluations, and accident/incident forms.
Takes action in emergency situations, including providing basic first aid and arranging for medical help. Follows health and safety guidelines, fills out and reviews accident/incident forms, and submits them to the Recreation Programmer.
Addressing general inquiries and complaints from participants, parents/guardians, and the public in a mature, calm, and professional manner. Resolving any concerns or referring them to the appropriate staff member.

1. Demonstrated experience in the supervision of staff.
2. Demonstrated experience in planning and execution of youth related programming.
3. Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public, participants, parents/guardians of participants and staff.
4. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, instructional, written and program delivery skills.
5. Availability to work evenings, weekends and special events.
6. Due to the nature of the contacts of this position a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town is required.
7. Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification required.
8. Current High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development certification required.
9. Current Safe Management/Non-Violent Crisis Prevention certification or equivalent required.
Please Note: Certifications are not required at time of application but must be obtained prior to job commencement. The Town of Newmarket may offer opportunities for certification.
Disclaimer: Candidates whose Standard First Aid certification expires after June 22, 2026 must renew their certification through a WSIB-approved provider and obtain the new Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C certification at candidates own cost.
