About the Position
As a Labourer, you will be an important part of our underground construction crew. The work will primarily involve interior excavation and backfill of underground piping systems, as well as interior grading and general labour activities associated with the project.
This is a physically demanding, hands-on construction position that requires individuals who are dependable, willing to learn, and ready to work as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with interior excavation for underground piping systems
- Assist pipe crews with preparation, installation, and backfill operations
- Perform interior grading and fine grading work
- Place, spread, move, and level soil, granular, sand, and other materials
- Assist equipment operators with excavation and backfill activities
- Perform general labour duties as required by the Foreman or Superintendent
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Load, unload, move, and organize materials, tools, and equipment
- Assist with site preparation and cleanup
- Follow directions from supervisors and work effectively with other crew members
- Follow all health and safety requirements and procedures
- Take pride in producing quality work and maintaining a safe job site

- Is a LiUNA Local 1059 member or eligible to work under the Local 1059 agreement
- Has a strong work ethic and takes pride in their work
- Is reliable, punctual, and ready to work every day
- Works well as part of a crew and understands the importance of teamwork
- Is willing to learn new skills and take direction
- Is comfortable performing physically demanding construction work
- Has a positive attitude and a willingness to help wherever needed
- Takes safety seriously
- Keeps their work area clean and organized
- Has previous construction or underground experience — an asset, but not required
