EcoTech Windows & Doors is looking for a reliable, experienced, and customer-focused Window & Door Service Technician to join our Sudbury team.
Reporting to the Service Manager, the Service Technician will be responsible for completing residential service and warranty calls throughout Sudbury and surrounding areas. This is a hands-on position that requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to professionally interact with homeowners.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working independently, and able to diagnose and resolve issues involving windows and exterior doors.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete scheduled residential window and door service calls efficiently and professionally.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and adjust PVC/vinyl window products and exterior doors.
- Address warranty-related issues and determine appropriate service solutions.
- Perform adjustments and repairs to window and door hardware, locks, handles, hinges, weatherstripping, screens, glass components, and other related components.
- Review the daily run sheet and service schedule to prepare for upcoming appointments.
- Load and organize the service vehicle with the tools, equipment, and replacement parts required for scheduled calls.
- Inspect products and identify the cause of service concerns.
- Clearly explain service work and resolutions to customers.
- Ensure customers are satisfied with the service provided before leaving the job site.
- Maintain accurate and detailed service notes, photographs, paperwork, and system updates on a daily basis.
- Communicate with the Service Department regarding additional parts, follow-up work, or unresolved concerns.
- Maintain tools, equipment, parts, and the company service vehicle in an organized and professional manner.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience servicing, installing, repairing, or working with windows and exterior doors is strongly preferred.
- Experience with PVC/vinyl windows and steel / fiberglass residential exterior door systems is an asset.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
- Ability to identify problems and determine practical repair solutions.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable, punctual, and organized.
- Strong work ethic and positive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to prioritize multiple service calls and meet scheduled timelines.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change throughout the day.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Valid driver's licence and clean driving record required.
- Ability to safely perform physical work associated with window and door servicing.
Pay: $60,000.00 per year
