We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to lead our fabrication team and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production activities within our metal fabrication facility. This position provides leadership to production employees while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will have experience in metal fabrication processes, employee development, production planning, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations within the fabrication department, including welding, cutting, forming, machining, assembly, and finishing processes.
- Lead, coach, and develop production employees to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and attendance expectations.
- Coordinate production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements while maximizing efficiency and minimizing downtime.
- Monitor workflow, staffing, and machine utilization to optimize production performance.
- Ensure products meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and company quality standards.
- Enforce all workplace safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe material handling practices.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and minimize rework.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Management, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role within a metal fabrication environment.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes, including welding (MIG/TIG), laser or plasma cutting, CNC machining, press brake forming, and metal assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication specifications.
- Knowledge of quality systems, inspection techniques, and dimensional tolerances.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
