Companion Position – Senior Support (Cantonese speaking)
We’re looking for a dependable, compassionate companion to provide social support and daily routine assistance for a senior client in their home. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, engaging, reliable, and enjoys building meaningful connections with others.
The focus of this position is companionship, encouragement, and helping the client stay organized and engaged throughout their day. The successful candidate will provide friendly support, participate in activities, and help create a positive and comfortable daily routine.
What You’ll Do
- Provide companionship and social interaction for a senior client in their home
- Engage in meaningful conversations and activities based on the client’s interests
- Support the client with maintaining a daily routine and staying on track throughout the day
- Offer reminders and gentle guidance with daily schedules, appointments, and planned activities
- Accompany the client during walks, outings, errands, or community activities (as appropriate)
- Encourage independence, confidence, and overall well-being
- Communicate updates and observations to the appropriate team/family members
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working with seniors, companionship, or support roles is preferred
- Experience supporting individuals with dementia or cognitive changes is a strong asset
- Warm, patient, dependable, and compassionate personality
- Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with clients
- Comfortable working independently and adapting to the client’s needs
- Reliable transportation is preferred
- Comfortable using a smartphone for communication and scheduling
Assets
- Experience in senior care, home support, community programs, or client services
- Experience engaging seniors in activities and social connection
- Understanding of dementia-friendly approaches and supportive communication

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
