Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and personable Senior Bartender for our Japanese Grill restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service, excellent customer service skills, and proficiency with POS systems. This role involves preparing and serving beverages, managing customer orders, and ensuring a welcoming dining experience. The Senior Bartender will also oversee junior staff, maintain food safety standards, and contribute to a smooth operation during busy hours. Prior restaurant experience, especially with Micros POS systems, is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently and accurately
- Manage customer orders using Micros POS or similar systems, ensuring quick and correct transactions
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests professionally and courteously
- Oversee serving staff, assist with training, and ensure team adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including proper handling of food and beverages in compliance with health regulations
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations for change
- Monitor inventory levels of alcohol, mixers, and supplies; assist in stock replenishment as needed
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and restaurant policies
- Assist in opening or closing duties as assigned to ensure smooth daily operations
Skills
- Proven experience in food industry roles, particularly in restaurants or hospitality settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems, especially Micros POS
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally
- Effective time management skills to handle busy service periods efficiently
- Basic math skills for cashiering and transaction accuracy
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to serve alcohol responsibly and adhere to legal requirements
- Leadership qualities to supervise junior staff members as needed
- Experience in serving within a hospitality environment with a focus on food service excellence
Pay: From $17.60 per hour
