This is an exciting new opportunity to join our Community Safety department as a Clerk Typist 3! You will perform moderately complex clerical and typing work. You will be responsible for performing transcription tasks using a variety of methods, as well as word processing reports, letters, memos, and forms, and other related querying and data entry duties as required. Performs other related work as required.
Qualifications include up to high school graduation supplemented by courses in typing, word processing or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge of standard clerical procedures and the ability to use common office equipment. An incumbent should be able to use software programs including MS Word and Start-Stop Omniversal. Working knowledge of JUSTIN or PRIME would be an asset. Sound knowledge of business English in written and oral form. Ability to deal effectively with internal and external clients. High typing speed with high accuracy and transcription of lengthy documents experience is required. Police/criminal justice environment experience is preferred. The incumbent must obtain and maintain an Enhanced RCMP Security Clearance.
Pay Rate: $31.58 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits
Location: Burnaby RCMP Detachment
Hours of work: This is an auxiliary position, hours and shifts are based on operational requirements and do not provide guaranteed hours of work, which may include on-call shifts. Typical shifts will be on Saturdays and Sundays from 6 am – 2 pm.
