The Coordinator, Data Science Centre and Population Outcomes Research Unit (PORU) plays a pivotal role in supporting innovative health research at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Acting as the central point of coordination for both programs, the coordinator oversees day-to-day operations, facilitates access to research resources and data services, supports researchers throughout project initiation and data access processes, and coordinates events, communications, and stakeholder engagement activities. Working closely with researchers, analysts, epidemiologists, operation teams, and external partners, the coordinator helps ensure the successful delivery of research initiative and the effective operation of two strategically important research programs.

Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Data Science Centre and support the effective functioning of the Population Outcomes Research Unit.

Manage access to the Data Science Centre, including oversight of facility usage, guest access, and front-desk/check-in activities.

Coordinate online scheduling system for cubicle area and space utilization.

Plan, coordinate, and support Data Science Centre workshops, speaker series and other collaborative initiatives.

Collaborate with communications teams to promote Centre programs, events, services, and achievements.

Review and update display content within the Data Science Centre in collaboration with stakeholders, participants, and communications.

Provide monthly reports on Data Science Centre use, attendance activities, feedback surveys and PORU research activities.

Support events with technology operations, setups, and event execution.

Liaise with Information Technology to address technology functions and monitor issue resolution.

Coordinate joint meetings and activities involving researchers, operational departments, and external partners.

Provide admin support for Data Science Centre and PORU data requests, creation of data management plans.

College degree or University degree in Business Administration or Communications or related field.

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in an administration, program coordination, or operational support role.

Experience coordinating multiple projects, schedules, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams).

Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships and work effectively with diverse groups of internal and external partners.

Experience working in a research institute, healthcare, or hospital environment.

Experience using social media platforms to support communications, stakeholder engagement, and the promotion of programs, events, and initiatives.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and self-motivated.

Excellent interpersonal relations and communications skills, sound judgment and ability to foster a cooperative work environment.

Bilingualism (English/French) is preferred.
