Job Description
- As a member of a high performing healthcare team, the Medical Office (Runner) offers support to the Medical Office Assistants, Primary Care Physicians and Physician Assistants.
- Monday - Friday
Main Responsibilities/Duties (but not limited to):
- Ensures the provision of optimum patient care.
- Rooming patients
- Documenting patient medical history using Electronic Medical Records
- Recording patients’ blood pressure, height and weight
- Communicating with patients and other health care workers on behalf of the physician, when necessary.
- Cleaning of exam rooms
- Restocking of exam rooms
- Sterilization of tools via AutoClave
- Keeping record of items that need to be ordered and informing the Medical Office Assistants of items.
- Operates a variety of office equipment such as but not limited to: Apple computers, PS Suite EMR, fax machine, photocopier, scanner.
- Compiling and processing medical information using the Electronic Medical Records
- Some Data Entry may be required.
- Performs other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.
Performance Requirements:
- Demonstrate a commitment to the delivery of excellent patient care
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of general office practices, procedures and standards
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, providers, learners, clinical staff and patients.
- Maintains patient confidentiality
- Ensures efficient operation of the office, within scope of authority
- Produces accurate, high quality work, ensuring patient records are complete and accurate
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy; effectively prioritizing tasks
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
Qualifications:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- Medical terminology an asset
- Successful Candidates are required to provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check prior to start date.
- Excellent telephone, computer systems skills and word processing skills
- Ability to use good judgment in assessing and/or responding to difficult situations
- Experience using TELUS PS Suite EMR preferred

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
