Lifetime Vision Centre is a modern, patient-focused optometry practice with two growing locations. We are known for high-quality eyewear, advanced technology, and exceptional customer service. We’re looking for a Full-Time Optometric Assistant with required dispensary experience to join our team.
Position Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Optometric Assistant who has hands-on optical dispensing experience, including fitting, adjusting, and selling eyewear. This role includes a mix of clinical pre-testing, patient support, and optical sales.
This position is full-time (35–40 hrs/week) with 5 days in St. Catharines.
Key Responsibilities
Optical Dispensary (Required Experience)
- Assist patients with frame selection and eyewear styling
- Fit, adjust, and troubleshoot glasses for comfort and accuracy
- Take precise measurements (PDs, seg heights, frame adjustments, etc.)
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and premium products
- Process eyewear orders and support inventory management
Clinical & Patient Care
- Perform pre-testing (autorefractor, tonometry, retinal imaging, etc.)
- Prepare patients for exams and input data into EMR
- Support doctors during busy clinic flow
Front Desk & Administrative
- Greet patients and provide exceptional customer service
- Schedule appointments, answer phones, manage recalls
- Process payments and verify insurance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional clinic environment
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience fitting, adjusting, and selling glasses (optical dispensary experience)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with computers and learning new software
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work between both clinic locations
- Experience in an optometry office

- Full-time: 35–40 hours/week
- 5 days/week in St. Catharines
