Job Information
Pentagon Group has an immediate opening for an experienced HydroVac Operator to join our team in Ottawa. The HydroVac operator will support the construction team in the installation of telecommunication equipment. The selected candidate will be responsible for driving, operating, and the general upkeep of the HydroVac truck.
Responsibilities and Experience
- Effectively operate HydroVac truck for daylighting (exposing/unearthing)
- Proven record and ability to operate the HydroVac truck in a safe and effective manner.
- Transport equipment to and from job sites
- Conduct pre/post operational inspections of equipment.
- Complete various mandatory reports (drivers’ logbook, daily vehicle inspection, maintenance reports, accident, and incident reports as needed)
- Possibly be required to drive a Straight bore truck with float/direction drill to site if needed
- Miscellaneous jobs assigned by the Foreman/supervisor.
Qualifications
· Minimum 2 years of experience in lead role operating and driving a HydroVac truck.
· Trained in the proper operation and maintenance of the HydroVac truck.
· Valid AZ class driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
· Ability to confidently operate around underground utility services safely.
· Be familiar with CVOR requirements.
· Commitment to a safe work culture
· Safety certificates (First Aid, WAH, Confined Space)
· Must have own transportation to travel to the warehouse/office where company vehicles are provided.
· Additional training- Electrical awareness, Trenching safety or other training related to Hydrovac operation

Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for long periods of time.
Pay: $36.03 per hour
