We are seeking a Technical Sales Representative to support our customers with technical expertise, product solutions, and responsive field service while driving sales growth within the poultry industry.
Job Overview
The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for developing customer relationships, identifying equipment and system requirements, providing technical recommendations, and promoting Clark Ag Systems' portfolio of poultry and egg production equipment.
This role combines technical expertise, consultative selling, customer service, and field support, with a strong focus on understanding customer operations and delivering practical, cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical sales contact for customers regarding poultry and egg production equipment.
- Develop new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers.
- Conduct on-site customer visits to assess facility requirements, production challenges, equipment needs, and potential system upgrades.
- Recommend appropriate equipment, products, and solutions based on customer requirements, facility conditions, and production objectives.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, product recommendations, and technical information for customers.
- Provide technical product presentations and demonstrations to customers and industry stakeholders.
- Work closely with customers to understand operational challenges and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, reliability, and overall farm performance.
- Support customers with technical troubleshooting and product-related inquiries.
- Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and service personnel to ensure solutions are delivered effectively and customer expectations are met.
- Follow up on quotations, projects, installations, and customer requirements throughout the sales process.
- Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, quotation, and sales information.
- Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, replacement systems, and additional products within existing accounts.
- Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with poultry producers, egg producers, farm owners, managers, and other industry decision-makers.
- Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, emerging technologies, and advancements in poultry production equipment.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, customer meetings, and demonstrations as required.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory to meet customers and support sales activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in technical sales, preferably within the poultry, agriculture, livestock, farm equipment, or related industry.
- Strong understanding of technical products, equipment systems, and customer applications.
- Knowledge of poultry farming, egg production, or poultry equipment is an asset.
- Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into practical customer solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing a territory and sales pipeline independently.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customers, projects, quotations, and priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
