Shop & Parts Technician
LH North Ltd. is a leading heavy-civil construction company in Northwestern Ontario specializing in the design and construction of high-quality infrastructure such as bridges, roads, deep foundations and underground water systems. The company is now accepting applications for Shop & Parts Technician who meet the following qualifications:
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Under the direction and supervision of the Shop Foreman and Mechanical Department:
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming parts, materials, tools, and equipment.
- Prepare and coordinate outgoing shipments, freight, and material transfers to project sites.
- Maintain inventory levels and assist with ordering parts, shop supplies, and consumables.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Operate forklifts, skid steers, and other material handling equipment as required.
- Assist mechanics by sourcing parts, preparing work area, and supporting maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure parts are properly labeled and stored.
- Coordinate warranty returns, core returns, supplier exchanges, and assist with fleet maintenance scheduling.
- Ensure the shop, warehouse, yard, and storage areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with inventory control procedures.
- Assist with fleet and equipment tracking, maintenance scheduling, and service documentation.
- Adhere to all workplace safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Perform general labour and support duties as required to assist shop operations.
Qualifications:
· Valid Ontario G driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in a shop, warehouse, parts, fleet, or service environment.
· Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory management, and logistics coordination
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment is considered an asset.
· Knowledge of automotive, heavy equipment, or construction equipment parts is considered an asset.
· Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
