Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Material Handler / Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and management of inventory within our distribution center. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, along with a solid understanding of warehouse management systems. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment that values safety, accuracy, and mechanical aptitude.
Duties
- Operate counterbalance forklift, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to load, unload, and transport materials safely and efficiently
- Manage inventory by accurately picking, packing, and staging orders using warehouse management systems
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and products as required to support warehouse operations
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning
- Assist with order picking processes to fulfill customer or internal requests
- Maintain organized storage areas to optimize space utilization and facilitate quick access
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries in the warehouse
- Support inventory counts and cycle counts as part of warehouse management activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklifts, clamp trucks, and order pickers in a warehouse setting
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and basic equipment troubleshooting
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for order processing and inventory control
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counting and measurement tasks
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy loads regularly and stand for extended periods
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures
- Basic understanding of order picking processes within a distribution environment
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for specific equipment or systems as needed
Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
