Job Summary
BrushBoy is hiring an experienced Lead Painter / Painting Supervisor to lead painting projects from preparation through final walkthrough. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in high-quality work, can confidently cut, brush and roll a room, and can keep a small crew productive without constant supervision.
You’ll work on custom homes, new construction, residential, and commercial projects, setting the standard for preparation, finish quality, site organization, and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Lead and complete painting projects from preparation through final walkthrough.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, filling, masking, priming, and repairing minor imperfections.
- Independently brush, cut and roll surfaces to a high-quality finish. (Spraying is an asset)
- Lead, direct, and support a small painting crew to keep projects on schedule and up to BrushBoy standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site throughout each project.
- Review finished work, identify deficiencies, and complete touch-ups as needed.
- Communicate clearly with the company owner, team members, and clients regarding project progress and site needs.
- Protect client property, manage materials responsibly, and ensure a professional on-site presence.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional painting experience.
- Proven ability to complete detailed brush-and-roll work independently.
- Experience leading or mentoring painters; able to keep a small crew organized and productive.
- Able to take ownership of a project and solve day-to-day issues without extensive supervision.
- Strong understanding of proper preparation, masking, caulking, priming, and finish application.
- High attention to detail and pride in clean, polished work.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a strong work pace.
- Positive, professional attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to take direction, collaborate with a small team, and uphold company standards.
