Position: Certified CNC Machinist (Red Seal Preferred)

Responsibilities:
- Set up and change over CNC machining centres including HMCs, VMCs, lathes and transfer machines
- Work closely with Quality Technicians to achieve first off approval and maintain product conformity throughout production
- Interpret CMM reports, engineering drawings and precision measurements to make necessary offset adjustments during production
- Program, prove out and edit CNC programs
- Critically review processes to maximize part quality, machine turnaround time and reduce part cycle times
- Plan, program and complete sample and prototype runs
- Troubleshoot tooling, fixtures, and machining issues as they arise
- Maintain and repair machining fixtures
- Maintain CNC programs and set up documentation to ensure they are current
- Review and assemble tools for upcoming set ups when required
- Interact with Engineering, tooling and fixture Suppliers
- Aid Shift Supervisor in Operator training
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years CNC machining experience
- Certified General Machinist (Red Seal) preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered
- Knowledge of current cutting tool technology and parameters
- Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings with an understanding of GD&T
- Ability to use a variety measuring equipment (Mics, Vernier, dial indicator, height gauge, etc.)
- Experience with CNC Horizontal Mills - 5 axis considered a strong asset
- Experience with CNC Rotary Transfer Machines and/or ABB robots is considered an asset
- Previous programming experience using Gibbs would be an asset.
- Willingness to learn, adapt and continuously develop new skills

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
