Tech Framing Inc. is a leading commercial wood framing contractor specializing in multi-family, residential, and commercial construction projects throughout Alberta. We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Project Coordinator / Junior Project Manager to join our growing team.
This role is ideal for someone with construction experience who understands building drawings, communicates professionally, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities constantly evolve.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with the planning and execution of construction projects.
- Review and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings.
- Coordinate project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Track project schedules, milestones, and outstanding items.
- Communicate with site supervisors, suppliers, general contractors, consultants, and clients.
- Prepare and maintain project spreadsheets, reports, and tracking logs.
- Attend project meetings and distribute meeting minutes.
- Monitor material procurement and delivery schedules.
- Assist with project budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
- Prioritize multiple tasks and proactively resolve issues before they become problems.
- Draft professional correspondence and maintain accurate project records.
QualificationsRequired
- Previous experience in construction project coordination, project management, estimating, drafting, or a related construction role.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong ability to prioritize competing tasks and meet deadlines.
- Self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PDF software.
- Professional and confident communication with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Preferred
- Experience in wood-frame construction.
- Experience working for a framing contractor, general contractor, building envelope contractor, or structural design firm.
- Familiarity with commercial and multi-family construction projects.
- Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, Buildertrend, AutoCAD, or similar construction software.
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
