Chen Chen's is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team. At our hot chicken restaurant, we pride ourselves on serving high-quality, scratch-made sides and perfectly fried chicken. This role is essential to our kitchen’s success, requiring a balance of precision in food prep and speed on the hot line. Duties
- Fry Station Mastery: Expertly bread and fry chicken to order, ensuring perfect temperature, texture, and spice-level application.
- Scratch-Made Prep: Prepare our signature sides from scratch daily, following precise recipes for consistency and quality.
- Line Excellence: Maintain a clean and organized workstation while managing multiple orders simultaneously during peak rushes.
- Quality Control: Ensure every piece of chicken and every side dish meets our presentation and taste standards before it hits the window.
- Safety & Sanitation: Uphold rigorous food safety standards, specifically regarding raw poultry handling and oil management.
- Team Collaboration: Support your teammates across the kitchen to ensure smooth service and timely delivery to our guests.
- Kitchen Upkeep: Assist with dishwashing, sanitizing surfaces, and restocking stations to maintain a professional workspace.
Requirements
- Culinary Experience: Previous experience as a Line Cook or Prep Cook is preferred; experience with deep fryers or high-volume poultry is a major plus.
- Prep Skills: Comfort with knife work and following multi-step recipes for scratch-made items.
- Heat Tolerance: Ability to work efficiently in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment (it’s called Hot Chicken for a reason!).
- Attention to Detail: Precision in applying spice levels and monitoring fry times.
- Reliability: Strong communication skills and a dependable work ethic.
- Flexibility: Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings.
