Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced medical or dental office environment. This role involves managing patient interactions, maintaining electronic medical records, and ensuring the smooth operation of front desk activities. Prior experience with electronic health record systems and strong knowledge of medical and dental terminology are highly valued. The Medical Office Assistant will play a vital role in delivering excellent patient care and supporting clinical staff.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, creating a welcoming environment
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently using electronic scheduling systems
- Answer multi-line phone systems, direct calls appropriately, and handle inquiries with professionalism
- Verify patient information, update electronic medical records, and ensure accuracy of data entry in systems such as Epic and Dentrix
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting insurance information and copayments
- Manage correspondence, including emails and faxes, related to patient care and administrative tasks
- Maintain organized office files and ensure confidentiality of sensitive patient information
- Support clinical staff with administrative duties as needed, including preparing paperwork for procedures or tests
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or Medical Office Assistant preferred
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Epic and Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with dental terminology is advantageous
- Office experience with front desk responsibilities and multi-line phone systems required
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy healthcare setting
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, providers, and staff
- Experience working in a healthcare environment, either medical or dental office setting, is highly desirable

Pay: $130,000.00-$180,000.00 per year
