Job Summary:
Clinical secretarial duties of the patient care unit including reception duties, patient registration, booking clinic appointments, transcribing doctor’s orders, patient data entry, and receipt and organization of office supplies. Assists in coordinating activities in the unit to ensure smooth and efficient unit function. Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors
Qualifications:
· Post-secondary medical secretarial or health office administration diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required
· Medical terminology
· Previous ward clerk or related office environment experience, including registration skills
· Ability to transcribe doctor’s orders
· Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office software
· Effective communication & organization skills
· Good attendance record
