Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Administrator to oversee daily operations within a busy healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, experience with electronic medical records, and familiarity with medical x ray and ultrasound patient services. This role involves managing patient interactions, coordinating staff activities, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The Medical Office Administrator will play a vital role in maintaining efficient office workflows, supporting clinical staff, and delivering exceptional patient service.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient scheduling, registration, and check-in/check-out processes using systems such as Velox medical records.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with billing, coding, and insurance claim processing to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Supervise staff, including training new team members and overseeing daily tasks to ensure smooth operations.
- Coordinate human resources functions such as staffing schedules, employee records, and performance evaluations.
- Support clinical staff by ordering supplies, and managing inventory.
- Handle correspondence, phone inquiries, and appointment reminders efficiently.
- Assist in budgeting activities related to office supplies, equipment maintenance, and staffing costs.
- Ensure the office complies with healthcare standards and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the referring physician offices to ensure their patients are receiving the services they requested
- Follow up with patient concerns, if any
Experience
- Prior experience in medical office environment is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Velox practice management software is essential.
- Experience working with electronic medical records systems is required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, billing procedures, is necessary.
- Supervisory experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
- Background in human resources management within a healthcare context is a plus.
Pay: $27.00-$29.00 per hour
