Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Landscaper / Labourer to join our civil construction team. This role involves performing various construction tasks to aid in the installation of water meters for the City of Vancouver including hand digging, removing and replacing sod, cleaning up work site and moving material. The ideal candidate will have a passion for outdoor work, a strong work ethic, and the ability to operate a variety of tools. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in landscape maintenance, plumbing, and construction while contributing to city infrastructure.
Duties
- Digging trenches
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment such as jack hammers, plate tampers, concrete saws
- Perform routine landscape maintenance tasks such as trimming, stripping sod, raking and digging
- Install and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns
- Support construction projects related to outdoor spaces, including fencing, paving, and retaining walls
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities to maintain a safe work environment
Qualifications
- Prior experience with landscaping, gardening, or construction is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating machinery such as concrete saws, plate tampers, generators is a plus
- Ability to use hand tools (shovels, rakes, pruners) and power tools safely and effectively
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions; ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds)
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Valid driver’s license is preferred for operating equipment or transporting materials on-site

Pay: $28.00-$33.00 per hour
