Job Summary:
In accordance with established policies and procedures of the organization and under the direction of the Director of Environmental Services or designated supervisor, performs general heavy cleaning duties such as wet mopping, scrubbing, stripping, and sealing floors; power washing such as transport equipment and mats. Performs minor maintenance duties such as changing light bulbs and unplugging plumbing fixtures.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Dust mops, damp/wet mops, scrubs, strips, seals, spray clean and polish floors and stairways. Operates safely and maintain heavy duty cleaning equipment such as buffer, carpet extractor, auto-scrubber, power sprayer and dry/wet vacuum.
2. Vacuums, steam cleans and shampoo carpets.
3. Wash and sanitize walls, fixtures, windows, ceilings, air vents/ducts, transport carts/bins and floor mats. Cleans and scrubs sinks, hoppers and floor.
4. Maintain outside of facility and Apartments, including terraces, pavement, walkways and windows by disposing of loose debris and washing windows.
5. Maintains related equipment by cleaning, lubricating and replacing items such as filter bags.
6. Remove snow and ice from building walkways, entrances, parking lots, using shovels and distributes Ice-Melt to above surfaces, to maintain a safe environment.
7. Transport furniture, equipment, supplies and client material goods using dollies/carts as required.
Job description/Janitor Aide:
8. Transports stock and materials to all areas of facility and Apartments.
9. Collect and dispose of garbage and keep garbage areas and containers clean.
10. Performs heavy duty cleaning such as kitchen equipment, resident bathing areas and equipment and resident rooms.
11. Change light bulbs/tubes, tap washers, and unplug plumbing fixtures such as toilets and sinks.
12. Report damaged and unsafe or faulty equipment to supervisor or designate.
13. Lock windows and door following facility security procedures (Home and Apartment).
14. Reports emergency repair requests such as floods, power outages, broken door locks, or fire alarm from RAM Apartments between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. to Administrator or designate.
15. Performs other related duties as assigned.
