Accounting Clerk
As an Accounting Clerk at Sable Metal Fabrication, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, and ensuring company information is organized, documented, and easily retrievable. This role is highly process-driven and requires exceptional attention to detail, strong data entry and analytical skills, and strict adherence to company procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The ideal candidate enjoys working with structured processes, maintaining accurate records, and using technology to improve efficiency. Sable Metal operates primarily within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, and this position requires confidence working with Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and other Microsoft applications.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Processing
- Process Accounts Receivable transactions and monitor outstanding customer balances.
- Process Accounts Payable invoices, vendor statements, purchase orders, and payments.
- Verify financial data for accuracy and completeness before entry into company systems.
- Reconcile discrepancies and investigate exceptions following established procedures.
Data Entry & Analysis
- Perform high-volume data entry while maintaining exceptional accuracy.
- Maintain and update accounting and operational databases.
- Analyze spreadsheets and financial data to identify inconsistencies and trends.
- Prepare reports and summaries using Excel and Microsoft 365 tools.
SOP Compliance & Process Management
- Follow established company SOPs and work instructions.
- Ensure all financial and administrative tasks are completed according to documented procedures.
- Assist in improving and documenting business processes when required.
- Maintain accurate audit trails and supporting documentation.
Digital Filing & Record Management
- Maintain organized digital filing systems within Microsoft 365.
- Ensure documents are properly named, categorized, archived, and retained according to company standards.
- Retrieve historical records efficiently to support operations, audits, customer inquiries, and management requests.
- Manage confidential employee and financial records with discretion.
Human Resources Support
- Assist with employee onboarding documentation.
- Maintain personnel records and HR-related files.
- Support administrative HR processes as required.
Communication & Team Support
- Collaborate with Sales, Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Management teams.
- Answer incoming calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, suppliers, and coworkers.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, administrative, or related experience.
- Experience with ERP or accounting software.
- Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Excel.
- Excellent organization and document management skills.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow documented procedures and work independently.
Preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environments.
- Familiarity with document control systems and records management.
- Experience supporting HR administrative functions.
