Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Customer Service Representative to join our team at Pokerrito Coquitlam. This role is essential in providing exceptional service to our customers, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and professionally. The ideal candidate will have a passion for serving others, with an interest or background in food service, food handling, or the food industry. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where excellent communication and customer satisfaction are prioritized.
Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Kitchen Duties
- Prepare fresh ingredients daily (cutting vegetables, portioning proteins, preparing sauces)
- Assemble poke bowls accurately and efficiently based on customer orders
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, prep stations, and storage areas
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating inventory (FIFO method)
- Ensure all food items are handled and stored at proper temperatures
- Support opening and closing kitchen procedures
Customer Service
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Take orders in-person and/or via POS systems accurately
- Provide menu guidance and recommendations to customers
- Handle payments (cash, card, digital) efficiently
- Resolve basic customer concerns or escalate when needed
- Maintain a clean and welcoming front-of-house environment
Teamwork & Operations
- Work collaboratively with team members during busy service periods
- Communicate clearly with kitchen and front staff to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain speed and accuracy during peak hours
- Follow company policies and procedures at all times
- Be flexible to work in both front and back of house as needed
General Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and hygiene
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Previous food service experience is an asset (not required)
- Food Safe certification (preferred or willingness to obtain)
- Poke experience would be an asset
