Social Media & Communications Coordinator – Part-Time, In-Person (Kamloops)
Maxwell Mechanical is hiring, and this one's a little different.
We're a Kamloops-based commercial HVAC and mechanical company, and we also run Ideal Auto Service and Tires right here in town. Two businesses, two very different audiences, one thing in common: we'd rather sound like real people than anything that feels stiff or corporate. We want someone in the building. Someone who knows our trucks, our crews, our customers, and the work we do every day.
We also want to see the talent that's out there. So if this is your thing, show us what you're good at.
What you'd be doing:
- Posting two times a week for each brand. Real content, not stock photo filler. That means getting out to a job site or onto the shop floor to capture what's actually happening.
- Keeping both brands consistent: the right colours, logos, tone and voice, every time, across everything.
- Working directly with me on creative and artistic direction. I'm hands-on and I love this side of the business, so we'll build this together.
What we're hoping you bring:
- A good eye for visual storytelling and a knack for keeping a brand consistent
- Comfortable creating content in Canva (Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator is a bonus, not a must)
- Strong writing and proofreading, you can make a post sound like us, not like a template
- Able to juggle a few things at once and hit your deadlines
- Curious about the wider marketing picture (SEO, analytics, that kind of thing) and keen to learn it as you grow
More than any specific tool, we care about instinct, initiative, and a creative mind we can build alongside.
Where it can grow: Down the road, there's room for this role to move into customer care and follow-up, the kind of personal touch that keeps people coming back. That's not day one, but if you're the right person, it's there.
Who I'm looking for: Someone early in their career is totally fine. I'd rather find someone with good instincts and real initiative than a perfect resume. I want to work with you. But I also want someone who'll take what we build and start running with it, not wait to be told every move.
The details:
- Part-time, 12-20 hours a week
- $30 to $38 an hour, depending on experience
- In-person in Kamloops (this isn't a remote role, being here is the whole point)
