About the Role:
The Real Estate Law Clerk / Paralegal plays an important role in the day-to-day success of DEEDED’s operations. This role is responsible for managing residential and commercial real estate transactions from opening through to closing, with full ownership of files and meaningful involvement at every stage of the process.
Working closely with clients, lenders, realtors, and internal team members, the Law Clerk / Paralegal has a direct impact on the quality and timeliness of each transaction. For many clients, particularly first-time home buyers, this role provides clarity and reassurance during a significant, life changing milestone. During what can be one of the most important moments in a homeowner’s journey, the Law Clerk / Paralegal helps bring structure, clear communication, and confidence to the process.
This position offers hands-on exposure to a wide range of transaction types and the opportunity to build strong technical expertise while working within clear workflows and established service standards. Supported by modern systems, well-defined processes, and operational leadership, the Law Clerk / Paralegal contributes to consistent execution, client confidence, and overall operational stability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage residential and select commercial real estate files from opening through to closing, including sales, purchases, mortgages and refinances, lender-only, ILA, and ILR files.
- Review Agreements of Purchase and Sale, mortgage instructions, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare all required closing documentation, including Statements of Adjustments, Statements of Account, trust ledgers, and related documents.
- Coordinate and schedule signing appointments and ensure documents are properly executed within required timelines.
- Request, track, and manage lender funding and client funds in accordance with closing requirements.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date files within conveyancing and document management systems.
- Ensure trust ledger information is accurate and notify accounting in accordance with closing timelines.
- Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with clients, lenders, realtors, and opposing counsel throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Provide clear updates, closing confirmations, and final reports to clients and lenders.
- Identify, escalate, and support the resolution of issues, delays, or risks in accordance with internal processes.
- Adhere to internal workflows, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure file accuracy and quality.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of residential real estate law clerk experience.
- Experience with commercial real estate files is considered an asset.
- Licensed Paralegal is considered an asset.

Pay: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
