Position Summary
We are looking for a Junior Quality Engineer with a mechanical engineering background who enjoys working with CAD models, engineering drawings, manufactured components, and hands-on problem solving.
Working closely with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Suppliers, you will investigate manufacturing issues, inspect components, review drawings and tolerances, and help improve product quality and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities
- Review SolidWorks models, engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
- Investigate mechanical, dimensional, and manufacturing quality issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and help develop practical engineering solutions.
- Support First Article Inspections and new product introductions.
- Perform dimensional inspections and develop inspection procedures and checklists.
- Support NCR, CAPA, and Material Review Board activities.
- Work with Engineering to improve tolerances, manufacturability, and product quality.
- Investigate supplier non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions.
- Recommend design, process, or inspection improvements to reduce defects.
- Support Engineering Change Notices and quality documentation.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 0–3 years of relevant engineering or quality experience.
- Co-op, internship, student design team, machining, fabrication, or other hands-on experience is valued.
Technical Skills
- SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
- Reading and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings
- Dimensions, tolerances, fits, and basic GD&T
- Dimensional inspection and measuring equipment
- Understanding of mechanical components and manufacturing processes
- Root cause analysis and engineering problem-solving
- Microsoft Excel
Experience with machining, sheet metal, aluminum extrusions, injection molding, ERP systems, or quality systems is an asset. Previous quality engineering experience is not required.

Working Environment
This is a hands-on role with time split between the engineering office and manufacturing floor, providing broad exposure to mechanical design, manufacturing, inspection, and quality improvement.
Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
