Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Medical Administrative Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support within a busy medical office, ensuring smooth daily operations. This role involves managing patient interactions, handling medical records, and coordinating office tasks to maintain an efficient and welcoming environment for patients and staff alike. Prior experience in medical or dental office settings is highly preferred, along with proficiency in electronic health records systems.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly at the front desk, providing excellent customer service
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages accurately
- Maintain and update electronic medical records
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with billing procedures
- Prepare and organize patient charts, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete
- Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and correspondence
- Coordinate appointment scheduling to optimize provider availability and patient flow
- Support the medical team with clerical duties as needed to ensure efficient practice operations
Skills
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Velox Imaging
- Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a Medical Office setting is highly desirable
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently and professionally
- Office experience with familiarity in front desk operations and administrative tasks
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and insurance companies
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Proficiency in English and ability to speak in other languages is preferred
