Construction Accountant/Job Costing Coordinator

Teahen Construction Limited is an established, growing construction company based in Stratford, Ontario with multiple divisions and approximately 40 employees. We are seeking a Construction Accountant/Job Costing Coordinator to support day-to-day accounting operations and provide clear insight into job profitability and implementing company efficiencies.
This role is ideal for someone who understands construction accounting and wants to play a key role in improving systems, tracking profitability, and supporting business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and organize company financials to ensure efficiency, accuracy and consistency
- Review accounts payable and receivable processes (with support of team staff)
- Maintain and improve job costing and project tracking systems
- Monitor project profitability and identify gaps and/or inefficiencies
- Provide clear, simple reporting to management on financial performance
- Work with management to improve internal processes and efficiency
- Prepare and organize year-end financials and liaise with external accountants
- Assist with system improvements.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong accounting background (construction experience preferred)
- Experience with Sage 50 Premium or QuickBooks Online
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of job costing and project-based accounting
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to analyze data and communicate findings in a clear, practical way
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems
Position Details:
- Full-time position (40–44 hours per week)
- Office-based role in Stratford, ON

About the Role:
This position goes beyond traditional accounting. The successful candidate will help ensure our numbers are accurate, our systems are efficient, and our projects are profitable. You will work closely with management to provide insight, identify and high light opportunities for improvement and follow through on implementation, and support better decision-making across the company.
Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
