About Us
We are looking for a compassionate, motivated, and career-oriented Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This role is best suited for individuals who are genuinely interested in building a future in veterinary medicine and who are eager to learn in a hands-on clinical environment.
Whether you are currently studying veterinary technology/assisting or planning to pursue a long-term career working with animals, we provide mentorship, training, and opportunities to grow within the field.
This is more than a general animal care position we are looking for someone who is excited about veterinary medicine, patient care, and becoming part of a dedicated medical team.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and patients
- Answer phones, mails, and client inquiries
- Book, confirm, and manage appointments
- Check clients in and out
- Process invoices and payments
- Safely restrain pets during examinations and treatments using best practices
- Assist veterinarians with patient exams and treatments
- Prepare animals and surgical areas for procedures and surgery
- Monitor and record medications and treatments administered
- Maintain accurate electronic patient records and medical notes
- Ensure hospitalized and kenneled pets are clean, comfortable, and well cared for
- Communicate with clients regarding their pet’s care and appointments
- Answer phones and assist with scheduling appointments
- Support curbside services when needed
- Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, exam rooms, tables, and floors
- Assist with inventory management and clinic organization
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors as needed

Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Veterinary Assistant education completed or currently in progress is preferred
- Customer service experience is strongly preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable learning new technology and veterinary software
- Reliable transportation to Fort Erie and Niagara Falls locations, please do not apply if this is not possible
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs routinely
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Frequent bending, twisting, and movement throughout the workday
Hours & Location
This position works between our two clinic locations:
Lakeshore Animal Hospital – Fort Erie
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Lundy’s Lane Animal Hospital – Niagara Falls
Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
After hours availability as needed
