The Foreman of our Custom Homes Division for the execution of assigned Custom Homes jobs; from groundwork and home layout to finishing and commissioning. They are expected to motivate and lead the team with a positive and approachable attitude. This position is also required to regularly check for quality of work and safety hazards on job site. Our Foreman drive the job site success and are expected to maintain schedule from the groundwork to occupancy of a home.
Our Foreman helps drive the big picture of the project. They are expected to have the mindset to meet or beat the schedule as set out by the developer and continuously strive for success. POSTION REQUIREMENTS:
- Red Seal Certified Plumber
- Experience leading teams and guiding apprentices
- Knowledge of Procore and Microsoft 365
- Gas B ticket is considered an asset
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute job according to schedule from start to finish, assigning tasks to team and regularly motivating employees with feedback on performance
- Responsible for the entire success of the project from groundwork to occupancy
- Treat everyone with respect and integrity, including apprentices, journeyman, developers, office members, subcontractors
- Lead by example by prioritizing safety and training employees on the guidelines as established by Tap Roots and the site
- Manage installation and scheduling of the project; as well as actively participate with the Project Managers on measurements and verifying equipment to be ordered
- Utilize plumbing experience and background to train lead hands and follow up on quality of job site
- Monitor and manage the performance for all employees on site, communicating any concerns with the Human Resources Manager.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Lead by example with team regarding safety, quality and teamwork
- Mentor the Apprentices and Journeyman on site, always encouraging development and internal company growth
- Regularly check for quality and communicate errors to installers
- Schedule deliveries to site, including prefabricated orders from suppliers or in-house shop
- Request appointments with Inspectors and permits with Administrator
- Issue coaching discussion and verbal warning records to employees as needed for reminders on attendance, quality, performance, etc. All copies are expected to go to the Human Resources Manager
- Participate in performance management conversations with Human Resources Manager, including providing an evaluation for appreciates when requested
- Respond to employee injuries and complete appropriate paperwork as required by Teksmed; send to Human Resources Manager promptly and participate in the employee’s return to work plan
- Coordinate and cooperate with your peers, builders, clients, suppliers and sub-contractors
- Monitoring costs and collaborate with the office staff in providing required documentation – including timesheets, material use, time used
- Carefully read proposals and blueprints and communicating them to the team for execution
- Review and preplan based on drawings for upcoming projects
- Ensure that all job sites are left clean and to Tap Roots standard
- Train crew leads with the procedures and policies as put in place by Tap Roots
- Complete administrative work on a prompt and regular basis as needed
- Support duties and tasks as assigned by the site Project Manager or VP of Operations
